NIVO service terms of use
Last updated: 3 November 2026. This version applies from publication on nivorides.com. Booking and trip rules apply when NIVO opens those services.
1. Identity and purpose
The NIVO service is provided by ETS NIVO, Rue PL-13, Plateau, Niamey, Niger. Contact: contact@nivorides.com.
NIVO connects passengers with independent drivers and established taxis using their own vehicles. NIVO organises receipt and assignment of requests and trip monitoring. NIVO does not own the vehicles used by its partners.
These terms govern access to nivorides.com, the NIVO and NIVO Driver applications and booking service. Driver preregistration is an application only: it does not guarantee acceptance, employment, income or a launch date. Verification and a separate driver partnership agreement are required before activation. The allocation of obligations must comply with applicable regulations and the authorisations obtained.
2. Access and accounts
Passengers must provide a valid telephone number for bookings. Email is optional in the passenger app; adding an email to the passenger profile enables automated email trip summaries. The call-center booking screen does not collect an email address. Users must keep their contact details up to date. Login credentials and codes are personal. Suspected misuse must be reported to NIVO.
Account holders must be at least 18 years old. Minors may travel only when accompanied by an adult.
At launch, bookings are planned to be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Each trip remains subject to driver availability and confirmation.
At launch, the service is available only in Niamey, Niger. Bookings can be made by telephone through NIVO or in the NIVO application.
3. Booking and trips
For safety and security, passengers may book only for themselves and must be travelling on the booked trip. Booking a trip solely for another adult is not permitted. Other adults may accompany the person who booked, provided the vehicle’s permitted passenger capacity is respected. Minors may also travel with an accompanying adult under these terms.
Passengers provide their pickup location, destination and information needed for collection. Requests are subject to driver availability and confirmation. Arrival times are estimates.
Driver-passenger calls use ordinary telephone calls without number masking. Each party can see the other’s telephone number. These contact details must be used only to arrange or follow up the booked trip.
Passengers should check the identification details provided for the driver and vehicle. Any change to the route or requested service must be clarified with the driver and, where necessary, NIVO, particularly where it changes the price.
4. Prices and payment
Trips are currently paid for in cash, directly to the driver, at the end of the trip. The fare is agreed before the trip begins. No cancellation or waiting fees are charged at launch. Any route change resulting in an additional charge must be explained and accepted before the additional service is provided.
Trip details are available in the passenger app. An email trip summary is sent automatically when the passenger has an app profile with an email address. For telephone bookings, automatic email summaries require a passenger-app profile with the same telephone number and an email entered in that profile. Passengers without such a profile do not receive an automatic email summary. Contact NIVO for assistance obtaining trip or payment details.
Tolls applicable to the agreed trip, including airport tolls, are included in the agreed fare and are not charged separately to the passenger.
5. Cancellations, no-shows and disputes
Passengers or drivers must inform the other party or booking centre as soon as a trip can no longer proceed. NIVO may seek another driver subject to availability.
Cancellations and no-shows incur no fees at launch. The seven-minute waiting period begins when the driver reaches the agreed pickup point. Once that period has elapsed, the driver may treat the passenger as a no-show. The passenger is notified of the driver’s arrival primarily through an app notification. If the driver cannot find the passenger, the driver also calls them. For trips booked by telephone, the NIVO call center first notifies the passenger that the driver has arrived. The driver may also call if the passenger does not appear promptly. Both the driver, in the app, and the NIVO call center record the passenger’s no-show.
Disputes about the amount or conduct of a trip may be sent to contact@nivorides.com, specifying the date and information needed to identify the booking. NIVO provides an initial response within two business days. This timeframe concerns the initial response and does not necessarily mean the complaint will be resolved within that period. Where a refund is due, NIVO coordinates its handling with the driver. Approved refunds are paid in cash within three business days of approval. At launch, refunds are not replaced by wallet credits or discount coupons.
6. Drivers and user conduct
Before activation, every driver must upload a profile photograph and physically attend NIVO’s office to submit their documents for verification and have their vehicle inspected. For drivers joining at launch, the office checks take place before launch.
Partner drivers must hold the documents, authorisations and insurance required for their activity, use an appropriate vehicle and comply with road traffic regulations. They must report any change affecting their or their vehicle’s eligibility.
All users must respect other people, property and safety instructions. Violent, discriminatory, fraudulent or dangerous behaviour is prohibited. Drivers may refuse or end a service that presents a danger, under conditions that preserve passenger safety.
7. Monitoring, incidents and emergencies
NIVO plans to monitor trips through the platform. Tracking availability and accuracy depend, among other things, on the network and device. Location processing is described in the privacy policy.
Incidents, difficulties or lost items may be reported to NIVO. In immediate danger, contact the competent emergency services first. The application is not an emergency response service.
NIVO cooperates with competent authorities in connection with legally grounded obligations and requests. This cooperation respects applicable data protection rules.
8. Account suspension and closure
Access may be temporarily suspended where there is reasonable suspicion of fraud, danger or breach of these terms. Any measure must be proportionate. Users may request an explanation and review at contact@nivorides.com, subject to information whose disclosure is legally restricted.
Users may request account closure and deletion of associated personal data at privacy@nivorides.com. Privacy and other personal-data requests should also be sent to this dedicated address; requests sent to contact@nivorides.com remain accepted. Processing of data following that request is explained in the privacy policy.
9. Liability
Each party remains responsible for its obligations and faults under applicable law. Drivers’ independent status does not remove NIVO’s own obligations. These terms do not limit mandatory user rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Technical interruptions may affect the service. NIVO informs users of known difficulties through available channels and handles complaints relating to its involvement.
10. Data, changes and disputes
The privacy policy at https://nivorides.com/en/privacy/ describes personal-data processing, indefinite historical-trip retention and the distinction between account-profile deletion and trip history.
Material changes to these terms will be communicated before taking effect where required. They will not retrospectively change the conditions of an already completed trip.
These terms are governed by Nigerien law, subject to applicable mandatory rules. Parties may seek an amicable resolution through NIVO before referring matters to competent authorities or courts. This process does not remove users’ statutory remedies.
